The Zamfara State government has entered into strategic partnerships with Chinese firms to deploy advanced surveillance technology and enhance agriculture, transportation, and mining sectors. This follows Governor Dauda Lawal’s recent working visit to China, where his delegation engaged multiple Chinese companies on collaborations to drive economic growth and security improvements in the state.
A statement released on Wednesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, confirmed that a delegation of Chinese industrialists, led by Mr. Tang Zhangwei, visited Government House, Gusau, to strengthen bilateral ties following the discussions in China.
One of the major agreements reached was with Zhong Zhao International Group, a company specialising in organic fertilizer production and mechanized farming. As part of the deal, the company will train local farmers in organic farming techniques, introduce modern agricultural machinery, and establish organic fertilizer plants in Zamfara. This initiative aims to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability while supporting health technology research.
To address the state’s ongoing security challenges, Zamfara partnered with Phoenix Wings, a Chinese firm that specialises in security surveillance technology. The company will deploy advanced drone surveillance systems and other cutting-edge security solutions to help combat banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats in the region.

Another crucial agreement was signed with Shenzhen HighGreat Innovation Technology Development Co., Ltd, a company focusing on robotics, drone display technology, and innovation-driven solutions. This partnership is expected to boost technological advancements and modern infrastructure in Zamfara.
In the transportation sector, Xiamen Magnetic North Technology Co., Ltd and Xiamen King Long United Automobile Industry Co., Ltd have been engaged to help develop modern transport hubs and introduce mass transit systems. These projects aim to improve mobility within the state and enhance transportation links to other regions.
For the agricultural sector, Zamfara is also working with WEICAI LOVOL International Trading Company, which specialises in smart agriculture solutions and mechanized farming. The company will provide integrated management platforms, modern tractors, and farming technologies to help local farmers increase their yields and efficiency.
In the mining sector, the Tibet Ming Company has expressed interest in investing in Zamfara’s mineral resources. The discussions focused on sustainable mining practices, corporate social responsibility, and modern exploration technologies to maximise the state’s mineral potential while ensuring environmental protection.
Governor Dauda Lawal expressed optimism about these partnerships, emphasizing their potential to transform key sectors of the state’s economy. He noted that his visit to China was highly intensive and productive, as it provided an opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders and explore practical solutions for the state’s development.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mallam Abubakar Nakwada, who was part of the delegation, also highlighted the significance of the China visit. He noted that the presence of the Chinese delegation in Zamfara is proof that the partnerships are already yielding results.
