At this year’s Nigeria Mining Week, Senator Akume reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to supporting investors in the mining sector and maximising its potential. The 9th edition of Nigeria Mining Week will take place in Abuja from 18 to 20 November 2024. This key event in the region’s growing extractive industry will bring together mining pioneers, investors, regulators, suppliers, and service providers at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

The change of dates and venue was prompted by the unexpected closure of the Abuja International Conference Center for renovations.

The event is organised by the Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN) in collaboration with PwC Nigeria and Vuka Group and hosted by the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.

Samukelo Madlabane, Event Director at VUKA Group, acknowledged the unavoidable changes but reassured participants: “The changes in dates and venue have been unfortunate and due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. However, we have worked tirelessly to secure an excellent alternative venue with world-class amenities in the Nigerian capital. The new venue, the Abuja Continental Hotel, offers state-of-the-art conference facilities and enhances the event experience with its modern fixtures, aligning with the status of Nigeria Mining Week as the premier mining event in the country.”

Madlabane added, “Everything is in place for another compelling and groundbreaking event, and the team is eager to reconnect with our clients, industry allies, and VIPs. We are grateful for the continued support from our longstanding partners.”

Dele Ayanleke, President of the Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN), expressed enthusiasm over the new venue and dates: “The heart and soul of this event is not necessarily tied to the venue, but rather to the passionate miners, developers, investors, and service providers in Nigeria who want to see their families, villages, regions, and the country thrive through the fair exploitation of the extractive industry.”

Ayanleke added, “We look forward to welcoming the event to Abuja once again. The conference and expo continue to grow in size, reputation, and quality. This year’s programme, with its expert speakers and specialist exhibitors, will not disappoint.”

Cyril Azobu, Partner & Mining Leader at PwC Nigeria, emphasised the importance of the event: “Nigeria Mining Week remains the key event shaping the Nigerian mining landscape. With vast, untapped exploration opportunities and significant project development potential, Nigeria remains the top investment destination for mining companies and investors.”
