Meet the Speakers at This Year’s Gold and Gemstone Conference

The Lagos Gold and Gemstone conference kicked off its first day Today at the Pan African Centre, Victoria Island Lagos. For the Next Three days the Conference would host panel discussions, innovative discourses surrounding sustainable Mining practices, and the fusion of jewellery and fashion.

Here are some of The Speakers and Panelists at this years Conference:

  1. Lukuman Adekilekun Jimoda:

 Lukuman is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Osun State on Mineral and Mining Matters. He is Also the MIREMCO Chairman 

  1. Antony Nwakalor: 

Antony is the Founder and CEO of Soundcare Group Nigeria. The SoundCore Group’s founder and CEO is Tony Nwakalor. In 2002, he began a seven-year career in banking. He then founded the SoundCore Group to promote the growth of the African economy, particularly the value chain of commodities related to agriculture and solid minerals. 

  1. Madhuri Sarkar-Amoda

Madhuri is the Community Development and Stakeholder Manager at Segilola Resources operating limited. She is a seasoned mediator and community development manager with a track record of employment in the mining and metals sector. competent in team building, public speaking, leadership, management, and Microsoft Word. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in French language and literature and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, this expert is well-versed in community and social services.

  1. Doyin Rhodes Vivour(SAN) 

Doyin Rhodes Vivour is a British Chevening Scholar, Chartered Arbitrator and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators In addition to being a CEDR UK Accredited Mediator, Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour SAN, Managing Partner of Doyin Rhodes-Vivour & Co (Legal Practitioners and Arbitrators), is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). She has both an LLM and an LLB [Hons] in law. From King’s College London, University of London, she received a Masters of Arts degree [MA] with merit in International Peace and Security in 2002. 

  1. Tersoo Aga

Tersoo is a Senior Lecturer in Geology University of Jos, Nigeria and Founder of Aga Geoscience Consulting Ltd Tersoo, a geologist with more than 20 years of expertise, provides mining firms with consulting services in the areas of environmental impact assessment, underground water development, faceting and trade of gemstones, and mineral prospecting.

  1. Marit Kitaw, PHD 

Interim Director of the African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC), a specialist agency of the African Union tasked with implementing the Africa Mining Vision (AMV) and using minerals for sustainable development in Africa, Dr. Marit Kitaw serves as interim director. 

  1. Agnes Alaba 

She is the Commissioner, Mines Department, Ministry of Energy and Mineral development (MEMD) Uganda
