The Bauchi State Government has approved the establishment of Bauchi-Mingsheng Company to explore opportunities, create jobs, and enhance the state’s internally generated revenue.
This was revealed by the Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Maiwada Bello, during a press briefing after the State Executive Council meeting on Friday. Bello highlighted that the initiative stems from the government’s drive to position Bauchi as an investment and business hub.
He recalled, “In the year 2023, a team led by Governor Bala Mohammed visited the Shandong province of the People’s Republic of China to attract investors.
“The trip has started yielding significant results that led to the signing of Memoranda of Understanding with various companies, especially in mining, agriculture, tourism, and other sectors. Hence the memo for the establishment of Bauchi-Mingsheng Company, following the follow-up visit by Mingsheng officials and their technical personnel, showing interest in investing in the exploration and mining of Monazite, Tin/Columbite, Zircon, and other rare earth elements in Toro and Dass Local Government Areas.”

The commissioner emphasised the government’s commitment to fostering public-private partnerships and diversifying the state’s economy. He expressed optimism that the initiative could spur innovation, attract investment, and improve the living standards of Bauchi residents.
“By exploring more opportunities, the company is expected to contribute to job creation and enhance the state’s internally generated revenue,” Bello stated.
He added, “The development will also witness industrial growth, supporting local industries reliant on raw materials like Tin, Monazite, and Ilmenite, which are essential for technology and construction industries. Infrastructure development will also be prioritised, as mining projects often lead to improved infrastructure such as roads and other benefits for surrounding communities.”
Maiwada assured the ministry’s readiness to collaborate with other government arms to generate revenue and drive sustainable economic growth for the state.
