In order to enhance value addition in Nasarawa State’s lithium sector, Ganfeng Lithium Industry has committed to training 100 indigenes in lithium refining.
This pledge was secured during Governor Abdullahi Sule’s visit to the company’s refining plant in Ogun State on Sunday. The governor stated that the visit was necessary to track the lithium refined from Nasarawa and ensure that the company adheres to the Nasarawa State mining policy.
The policy mandates that mining companies establish processing plants within the state to prevent the past practice of exporting raw minerals without local value addition.

Confirming this commitment, a statement signed by Ibrahim Addra quoted Governor Sule:
“One of the promises I extracted from them is that they will bring 100 people from Nasarawa State to be able to learn here (Sagamu), so that when they return to Nasarawa, they can be able to work in the factory.”
Ganfeng Lithium further assured the governor that construction is progressing on its Endo refinery in Nasarawa State, with a completion deadline set for June this year.
Reports indicate that the Endo refining plant will have three times the capacity of the Sagamu plant in Ogun State.
