The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development (MSMD), has pledged to collaborate closely with Zamfara State to harness its vast mineral resources for economic growth. During a meeting with Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, stressed the strategic importance of the state in Nigeria’s mining industry and emphasized the need to remove obstacles hindering mining progress in the region.
Alake highlighted that Zamfara is one of Nigeria’s most mineral-rich states, particularly in solid minerals, and stressed the necessity for all levels of government to cooperate in the responsible exploitation of these resources, ensuring that the generated revenue benefits both the state’s citizens and the nation as a whole.

Governor Lawal, during his visit, expressed the desire to strengthen federal Government-state government cooperation in overcoming the challenges facing the mining sector. He also discussed addressing security concerns and creating the necessary infrastructure to attract investors to the state’s mineral resources.
