The Bauchi State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a China-based Minsheng Group of Shandong Province to unlock the state’s vast natural and mineral resources.
The agreement was signed in the presence of the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, and Commissioner of Natural Resources, Mohammed Maiwada Bello to pave the way for sustainable mining activities and economic development of the state.
This is coming, following Governor Mohammed’s recent visit to China with a focus on mining and agriculture partnerships. The Governor hopes the deal would boost the state’s economy, create employment opportunities, and enhance resource utilisation and infrastructure development.
The state government’s special purpose vehicle will maximise resource utilisation, while Minsheng Group commits to sustainable growth and development in Bauchi State.
Bala Mohammed welcomed the partnership as the outcome of his China visit, where a multifaceted twin-sister agreement was forged.
“We’re committed to harnessing our natural resources for the benefit of our people,” he said.
In his response, the General Manager of Minsheng Group said the partnership was a new dawn for Bauchi State’s mining sector, driving sustainable growth and development.
This strategic partnership is expected to improve Bauchi State’s economy through mining activities, employment opportunities for locals, and enhance resource utilisation.
According to the general manager of Minsheng Group, “This partnership marks a new dawn for Bauchi State’s mining sector, driving sustainable growth and development.”
