Nigeria is considering various decarbonisation effort in mining practices in the country, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action has stated.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ngelale said in order to actualise the efforts in decarbonisation, he held substantive meetings with the Executive Management of Sinoma International Engineering Company at their Beijing Headquarters.

“Mr Yin Zhisong, the Board Chairman of the company and Mr Zhu Bing, the Company’s President, were in attendance at the meeting which, covered areas of mutual interest,” he said.

Ngelale explained that Nigeria was moving fast to domesticate the decarbonisation of mining practices with full ecological support and restoration using the expertise of Sinoma.

He hopes there will be more adoption of automation of several manufacturing processes for Carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS), wind blades, and other very important technologies.

He considers the meeting with the representatives of the Chinese company as fruitful.
