The Zamfara State government has forged a partnership with several Chinese firms to enhance the state’s security, agriculture, transportation, and mining sectors through advanced technologies and innovative practices. This collaboration follows a successful working visit by Governor Dauda Lawal to China, where his delegation engaged with prominent Chinese companies such as Zhong Zhao International Group, Phoenix Wings, Shenzhen HighGreat Innovation Technology Development Co. Ltd, and Xiamen Magnetic North Technology Co. Ltd. to explore potential areas of cooperation.

A statement from the Governor’s office on Wednesday, signed by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that a group of Chinese industrialists visited the Government House in Gusau as part of a follow-up to the discussions in China. Governor Lawal welcomed the delegation, stating that the partnership would play a key role in driving Zamfara’s economic growth across critical sectors.

The collaboration includes an agreement with Zhong Zhao International Group to promote organic farming and mechanised agriculture through technology transfer and training of local farmers. This will also involve the establishment of organic fertilizer plants in Zamfara State. In terms of security, the partnership with Phoenix Wings will focus on deploying advanced surveillance technologies, including drones, to address issues such as banditry and kidnapping, which have been significant challenges in the region.

Furthermore, the discussions with Shenzhen HighGreat Innovation Technology Development Co. Ltd. centred around the use of robotics, drones, and innovative technologies to bolster the state’s security and agricultural sectors. The partnership with Xiamen Magnetic North Technology Co. Ltd. aims to enhance Zamfara’s transportation infrastructure through the development of modern transport hubs and mass transit systems. Additionally, the delegation met with WEICAI LOVOL International Trading Company to advance smart agriculture and introduce integrated management platforms and modern tractors.

In the mining sector, the visit included productive talks with the Tibet Ming Company, focusing on increasing investment in sustainable mineral exploration and mining practices in the state.

Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Mallam Abubakar Nakwada, who was also part of the delegation to China, reflected on the success of the visit, highlighting that the arrival of the Chinese companies in Zamfara marked the positive outcomes of their discussions.
